The burial was defined within trenches TPC.I and TPC.M that were opened within the framework of research aiming to examine the outlines of as well as the relationship between the buildings of the upper levels exposed during the 1960’s excavation seasons. It consisted of a human skeleton (30423), an infill (30425), well-defined plaster layer (30426) and surrounding mud-brick marker that were situated on top of the walls (F.7473 and F.7474) of unattributed buildings. The burial, which dates to post-Neolithic period was heavily truncated and disturbed by animals and plans. The skull, part of the upper abdomen as well as the left upper limb seem to have been removed during Mellaart’s excavation in turn. The burial was unearthed at the very end of the season and was preserved with geotextile and left unexcavated. |
