Exposed to its latest occupation phase the construction of Sp.270 of B.57 is earlier than midden Sp.279.
Prior to the introduction of the Hodder phases Sp.270 of B.57 had been allocated to Mellaart Level VI-III very crudely based on comparison of the material assemblage
but
Mellaart levels of buildings/spaces NOT excavated in the 1960s have been removed to allow an independent assessment on phasing.

Description:
Northern space of building 57, accessed from the outside or through a crawlhole now truncated away by the roman foundation trench for building 51.A double basin protruded from the northern wall and a niche was built into the eastern wall. The space was cleared before its abandonment.
