Discussion: Arbitrary layer taken down in area west of cut 1043 (1995 number) as relationship between midden and fills of 1043 not clear. This layer did not overlie wall between rooms 15 and 16. Layer probably represents the upper fill of cut 1043.

Colour: 2.5 yr 4/1 dark grey 

Texture: sandy clay loam 

Bedding: Massive changing in areas with large patches sandy loam 

Inclusions: Pottery, obsidian, mudbrick fragments, shell and bone
