Description: brick in wall 

 

Discussion: bricks on internal face of north wall F. 1854, Associated with mortar 12056. Sample 1 was collected from course 3, S2 from course 2, S3 from course 2, S4 from course 1, S5 from course 6, S6 from course 4. This wall appaears not to be made of rectangular bricks but rather layers of brick and mortar like mateial because there are no vertical mortar lines- they are all horizontal.

These bricks were cleary defined in this wall, even though it was eroded. There were many inclusions such as bone, stone, and clay balls. We did not remove the enitre wall, just to one of the cracks.
