Discussion: External midden deposit. The midden layers in space 279 are interdigitated with mudbrick demolition material in the SW corner of the area.
Recognition: midden layer chased from the west side of space 279
Definition: above mudbrick layer but peters out to east

Consistency: Friable
Colour: dark grey with lenses of light yellowish grey and brownish grey and ashy lenses
Texture: v slightly sandy silt
Bedding: compound layered with thickish (up to 10 cm thick but varaible)
Inclusions: moderate bone obsidian pot, occasional figureine, shell, clay ball
Post-depositional Features: animal burrows
Basal Boundary: diffuse, a light lense above a dark charcoal layer in the midden defined the basal boundary
