Discussion: Late human burial fill. Occasional artifacts (some ceramic fragments and half a clay ball) and animal splinters and teeth, with no apparent relationship. Some dispersed charcoal flecks, especially in the east side. Contained a poorly preserved, Byzantine skeleton. A piece of burnt pottery, of aproximately 4 by 4 cm and a thickness similar to that of a skull bone, was placed on the south side of the skull and positioned as if it was part of the skull This might be coincidental but I thought it was interesting to note.

Recognition: Fill around human skull

Definition: Clear in the west side, more diffuse in the east side

Execution: trowel and leaf trowel

Condition: dry at top, humidity increasing with depth

Consistency: variable - soft to firm

Colour: Light brownish grey, lighter at the bottom

Texture: Sandy silt

Bedding: Mainly massive

Inclusions: Occassional charcoal flecks, obsidian, pottery fragments, bone, teeth, clay ball

Post-depositional Features: plant roots

Basal Boundary: diffuse, difficult to define
