Unit 15461
Category: Layer dug in 2007
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: wall - brick
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: wall/blocking; Material: brick; Deposition: homogeneous
Discussion: The mud bricks were eroded and friable at the top where they had been exposed, but were nice and firm once this layer was removed, and they were much easier to differentiate from the mortar and see the coursing (3 layers). Thi wall is next to wall F.2806, and as that there was no mortar or layer between the walls, and their bricks and mortatr were practically placed identically, made it hard to separate the two walls, however, from the topical view the walls could be easily seperated. The mud brick wall came clearly onto a dark brown roomfill layer (15496).
