Description: area of badly heat affected brick (also showing signs of wear) at mouth of oven
Discussion: structural repair of oven feature 2637, associated with the floors which seal it. Possibly a rebuild. Brick lining with grey mortar. North east element was probably the entrance. Brick here was degraded and worn. With inceased evidence of scorching. The rest of the internal face also showed signs of scorching.
