Discussion: Mortar in mudbrick wall F5055, the western wall of space 341.
GWN 2012: 16864 is unit representing mortar layers of western wall of building 98. It is consisted of two layers (thick) with black colour spread on southern wall as well i.e. unit 16866.
(JMR 20/8/12) - During the 2012 season, it was determined that wall 2413/5055 is a wall phase on top of the older phase 3369. The dark mortar layers of 2413/5055 were the main factor of recognizing the phasing. 2-3 layers of mortar were preserved. The lowest seems to have been applied directly o top of the old F.3369.
Parts of this mortar unit were removed with sondage 16865; parts are still unexcavated.
