Discussion: Unit 16939 is a lens of roomfill located in the southern half of space 342. Defined by color differences, the unit had many potsherds and animal bones. In the eastern edge, the unit had several large pieces of mudbric scattered in various positions. The density of mudbrick increased untill articulated bricks and mortar were found at the eastern limit. This area is now idetnified as F3053 and abytts buttress 5063 to the west.16939 is interpreted as an episode of roomfill deposit/midden due to theinclussions and consistency of the soil. Overall, it is similar to unit 16938, varying only in color motting and he size of pottery sherds.
