Discussion: This was a mixed room fill placed just below the floor [u.19388] of a building from level VII excavated by Mellaart. Its fragmentary preservation made it impossible to record its actual character and extension. However the current execution of the unit has revealed that it was a compound layered deposit consisting of a wide spectrum of different layers and materials such as fragments of bricks and mortars, collapsed plasters and midden-like accumulation. On the bottom of the unit there was an easily recognizable horizon of ash, combined with silty-sand and occasional charcoals. In spite of compound nature of the layer it had been excavated as one unit due to its incompleteness (Truncation by Mellaart) and because the deposit veiled actual vertical sequence of walls from several settlement levels (from VIII – VII).
