Unit 20059
Category: Layer dug in 2014
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: Patchy Plaster Floor
Data Category Information: Location: building; Description: general; Material: white clay; Deposition: composite (floors/bedding/plaster/packing/occupation); Basal Spit: unpainted
Description: Following the third layer of plaster. Lips up onto the wall so it doesn’t go further than that and ends at the wall.
Discussion: There were two distinct patch layers in this unit but purposely we went to the layer above the make up as it was more distinctive. This unit lips up onto the wall therefore we know it does not continue into space 373. This layer does not seem to be continuous with a plaster surface directly to the N of the wooden threshold (u. 19804), mostly because the other floor seems to be underneath a patch of remnant dirty floor (u. 20060) that does not extent over u.20059. Therefore, at different times there may have been different floors in different areas of the southern portion of B 80.
