Unit 20203
Category: Layer dug in 2012
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: Burial infill
Data Category Information: Location: cut; Description: burial
Dimensions: 0,40 m E-W, 0,20 m N-S, 0,15 deep
Discussion: This layer was first impossible to differentiate from 20205, but was defined as the part containing skeletal material from a child. During the second day of excavation of skeletons 19472 and 19484, the boundaries were defined, 20203 was then defined as the infill in cut 19485, the cut of the grave of skeleton 19484. Still, we could not find the boundaries of the cut for skeleton 19472, so all samples from the 19484/19472 area were atributed to 20203 until the entire 19484 skeleton was removed. Subsequent samples were atributed to 19472 grave infill (20405).
Note on flotation samples:
All of infill was sent for flotation. Should be regarded as one sample: S1, S2 and S4.
However, as the provinance of the samples is a bit unclear:
S4 should be regarded as the burial infill proper.
S1 and S2 is probably a mis of fill from the burial (u20203) and surrounding soil (u20405).
