Discussion: u. 20265 is a gray loam amid u. 20267 (a red deposit of mud brick) signifying the fill of pit f. 3979. It was left unexcavated at the end of the 2012 season.

2013: u. 20265 had a few finds (pottery, bone, obsidian) and animal burrows. The fill was a grey loam, some of it was black coloured due to the animal burrows. The bottom is clearly defined from the fill due to the color of soil changing from grey to orange. 

Recognition: clear after removal of 20269 

Definition: clear gray loam amid red u. 20267 

Execution: trowel 

Condition: hot, dry 

Consistency: friable 

Colour: greyish brown 

Texture: sandy loam 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: charcoal; plaster 

Post-depositional Features: animal burrows 

Basal Boundary: clear-- soil color changes from grey to orange
