Discussion: This unit consisted of highly eroded and badly preserved plaster remnants and thin make-up layer. Unit was recognized as another compound layer from area called the sunken floor because its lower elevation in the centre than on the edges and distinctly raised edges as well.
This layer was sealed by another compound material consisted of plaster remnants and packing make-up (U.21722).
Similarly to later layers from this area, U.21748 clearly lap up onto surrounding structures on its E side (see platform F.7401).
Layer of make-up is thin but compact; contains varying levels of charcoal inclusion, according to the proximity of the hearth. This unit is another evidence for plastering activity which took place in the southern part of the house, which is not typically pattern in general.
