Unit 21796
Category: Layer dug in 2015
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: Make up on small platform
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: feature; Description: raised area (platform); Material: pise-like; Deposition: homogeneous
Discussion: Unit is an extremely thin and patchy layer of brown sandy clay make up on top pf plat F. 7401. It appeared to sit on top of a thicker plaster flooring event, however it was revealed that the plaster was just a continuation of bench plaster that has been brought down onto F. 7401. The make up appears to sit on a highly eroded surface and several more thin clay make up layers. This unit represents the make up event after plastering event U. 21798 of bench F. 3439. It's excavation revealed a significant stratigraphic connection between F. 7401 and F. 3439; that the bench and make up layers occurred one after another as sequential events, repated over and over again as a part of plastering daily practice.
