Unit 22649
Category: Layer dug in 2015
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: floor makeup
Discussion: The makeup surface of the latest phase of occupation in B. 131 is highly burnt. It was exposed in 2015 following the room fill excavation (u. 22635), though it was not excavated because it is stratigraphically below some of the units making up platform F. 7951. The unit below (u. 22648) is visible toward the SE corner of this unit. It was sampled by Marco Madella and Carla Lancelotti as part of the phytolith grid laid at the latest phase of occupation in this building.
BT 12/6/16
This unit is an amalgamation of a number of plaster floors that were exposed in 2016 once proper excavations began in this area. The unit SHOULD BE kept as a number because of the phytolith samples taken. BUT these samples represent different floor plasters -- the specialists need to note this issue.
