Discussion: Remnant of a kerb that abuts the partition wall F770. Make-up patch was covering the joint of these two features. Once removed a thin layer of wall plaster was exposed on the east face of the partition wall F7708.
There were no remaining floors in the adjacent area to phase this remnant. It was on top of at least one thicker layer of plaster but might have been more melted toghether due to conflagration.
It shold also be noted that there was a significant amount of charred barley visible in this layer that was completely constructed with makeup moulding and no bricks or other constructional elements.
Consistency: soft/friable
Colour: reddish brown to dark brown
Texture: silty clay loam
Bedding: massive
Inclusions: small fragments of organic remains (barley) and voids of dessicated plant remains
Post-depositional Features: burning
Basal Boundary: distinctive, smooth
