Description: U23425 is the Western part of Bench F 8505, against Wall F2140, adjacent to the NNW side of the long basin F7778, in space 576, Building 52.

Discussion: U23425 was not initially recognised as the western part of Bench F8505, as this part of the feature had a very thin lime-plaster coat at its northern and eastern side. (At the southern side it abutted long Basin F7778, and its western side abutted Wall F2140). However, in the course of the excavation it became obvious that the original Bench F8505 (with structure U23425) was extended with a mudbrick and then with the use of mudbrick and marl to the East (U23414). So, U23425 was the earliest part of this feature, and U23414 was the later addition. U23425 was constructed of a pise-like sandy material and was coated. Its purpose would have related to long Basin F7778's function.
U23425 was built of a pise-like compact material, yellow in colour.
