Unit 2846
Category: layer dug in 1998
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: Midden Layer
Data Category Information: Location: external; Deposition: finely bedded
Discussion: This layer is located in the NE corner of space 115. Its obviously a layer of midden but there is not quite a big amount of bone, plant remains and clay ball. On the SW corner of the unit, there was a concentration of coprolite. The layer seems to have been formed by someone/thing laying a mass of soil at one part of the space and then maybe levelling it a little bit.
Recognition: Was first taken as 2840, but then it was understood that it was a different deposit from its color and texture.
Definition: Lump of layer in the NE corner of space 115, bordered by excavation and building 2.
Execution: Excavated starting from the S using trowel and brush.
