Discussion: Loose, lumpy deposit consisting of building material debris; fragments of mudbrick and significant amount of plaster. Very colourful surface through whole layer (see colour description). Appears to be deliberately deposited in pit structure. Plaster maybe scraped off wall plaster or possibly from buried wall moulding located within room fill 2844 in space 112. Similar deposit 2853 in SE corner of 2844. Towards base, possible wall emerging. 

 

Recognition: Loose, lumpy deposit, 1,2 circular. 

Definition: Abutting W wall and up to edge in S part. 

Execution: Half sectioned by trowel. 

Condition: Moderately moist. 

Consistency: Loose. 

Colour: brownish yellow (5 YR 6/6) ; white (5 Y 8/1) and very dark grey (5 Y 3/1) on dark yellowish brown (10 YR 4/6) 

Texture: Silty clay. 

Bedding: Massive. 

Inclusions: Occasionally chatcoal (small), moderately salt (small), occasionally coprolite (small) and rarely medium sized bone. 

Post-depositional Features: None apparent. 

Basal Boundary: Diffuse, shares characteristics with underlying layer - possibly slightly overdug.
