Discussion: Located against southern edge of interior of Hearth F. 7957.Sloping upwards against this edge. Thus creating a triangular profile with a slightly convex hypotenuse. Peripheral to centre of F.7957. 30049 has a consistency, location and profile suggestive of a deposit raked from center of F795 of ash and embers.
However, U. 30050 is open on the east side. Deposits 30048 and 30051 overlap the 'edge' of the hearth at this gap. This way indicate that this side was used to access t maintain the hearth. It so, then 30049 may not be debris but the insitu, truncated remains of an ash rich fill of Heath F. 7957.

Bedding: massive
Inclusions: very occasional small flecks of charcoalno
Post-depositional Features: no apparent post-depositional alterations
Basal Boundary: Smooth. Gradual. Distinct. Anthropogenic. Sloped slightly south to north.Located
