Unit 30526
Category: Layer dug in 2014
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: Partition wall plaster/coating
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: wall/blocking; Material: plaster; Deposition: layered (wall plaster)
Description: Due to intesive burning this layer was difficult to follow in some parts of the wall.
Discussion: 2013 season:
A ridge/partition wall built on top of the bench F7118 while erecting the platform F2177, very compact but irregular and patchy seems to be added erratically. Forms a frame and therefore is probably the same feature with other partition walls within platform. Is definitely the same unit as the coating of E partition wall. The W extent of the unit is difficult to define as the unit is diffused towards this direction.
This unit seems to be forming the sides and partially the bottom and the top of the ridge.
2014 season:
The plaster and make-up layer seems to have covered both parts of F7315, that is; both the W and the S partition wall. During the continuation of the excavation of this layer it was clear that the plaster no longer covered the whole surface of F7315 (see sketch), however the underlaying make-up (part of u.30526) did cover almost all of the partition wall indicating the original extent of the plaster. The unit was excavated using trowel.
