Unit 30591
Category: Layer dug in 2013
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: dirty flor paches, occupational surface
Data Category Information: Location: building; Description: general; Material: occupation; Deposition: multiple
Discussion: It was a dirty floor deposit or layer reminding of an occupational (activity) surface. It was distinguished by evidently different nature than registered above room fill (u.20988). The deposit was characterized by its texture composed of sandy-silty and greasy silty-clay paches. The layer was recognized mainly in N and S-E parts of the space 511. In the Northern section of the unit there was a sequence of phytoliths included in mid-brown silt that were sampled due to farther investigation (S1, S4, S5, S6, S7). Internal layering of the deposit was complex in nature. There were two types of bedding easily noticeable within the unit. The parallel lamination was recognizable mostly in the parts with phytoliths, however in the major part of the unit the deposit comprised of unoriented layers of different materials e.g. charcoals, salt included in sandy-silt ground. The surface as well as the basal boundary sloped toward North-East.
