Unit 30594
Category: Layer dug in 2013
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: Plastered platform lip
Data Category Information: Location: building; Description: raised area (platform); Material: white clay; Deposition: multiple; Basal Spit: unpainted
Discussion: Plastered lip to the E of platform F.7114 and W of burial platform F.638. The lip is lying exactly between the two platforms, running S-N. The lip was completely made of numerous layers of white plaster. This element was lying on top of plaster unit 30172 belonging to burial platform F. 638. This lip seems to be a later addition to the platform features, possibly to divide the space more effectively between the burial and the living areas of the building.
Once constructed, the lip was re-plastered multiple times in the same events as the burial platform, as the continuity of the plaster layering into the platform seems to suggest.
