Dimensions: 0.75 m E-W x 0.1 m N-S, 0.06 to 0.08 m thick 

Discussion: Part of build of bin 257 wall. Deposited as one solid block. On top of structure of oven and other components of bin walls of F.257. It slightly thickens the existing walls to the S (see sketch section). 

Recognition: Visible in section after (3162) removed as a light greyish yellow + charcoal deposit also visible in plan. Slopes down slightly to E and and tapers also to E. 

Definition: Continues 1/2 way along bin wall (overlies rest of it) W end (inside) possibly truncated by last year's baulk section. 

Execution: Leaf. 

Condition: Dry, cracking, covered. 

Consistency: firm to hard 

Colour: 10 YR 7/3 very pale brown 

Texture: silt 80%, clay 20%, fine sand 10% 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: 5% charcoal frags. 1-10 mm, 5% salts 

Post-depositional Features: root action, salts, poss. truncation from above, dry, crackling 

Basal Boundary: anthropogenic/distinct/fairly smooth and sloped to S./abutted by (3162) to N, tapers to E and W
