Area: South
Interpretive Categories: repair to bin, wall of bin
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: feature; Description: bin; Material: pise-like; Deposition: homogeneous
Dimensions: 0.69 m E-W x 0.12 m N-S, max 0.04 m (thick?)
Discussion: Layer which is part of construction for wall of bin F.257. Towards the W it fills a hollow and may have been part of a repair along with (3197).
Layer (2791) which was excavated last year (1997) probably abutted this to its S side (levels and plans seem to match).
Recognition: Seen as upstanding wall of F.257, very light brown, very hard with occasional charcoal flecks.
Definition: Extents W just over top of oven roof, elsewhere follows line of upstanding bin walls.
Execution: Trowel, not fully excavated as runs into baulk section in E (for micromorph. sampling).
Condition: Dry, covered.
Consistency: hard
Colour: silt 80%, clay 20%
Texture: 10 YR 7/3 very pale brown
