Unit 32784
Category: Layer dug in 2017
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: grouped floors and make-ups
Data Category Information: Location: feature; Description: pedestal/podium/plinth; Material: mix (dark grey&white); Deposition: multiple; Basal Spit: unpainted
Discussion: Unit number 32784 refers to the grouped layer of white plasters and underlying make-ups that coated the Bench F.7879 in its initial stage of the use in the earliest phase of the occupation of the Sp. 531. As such, from stratigraphical point of view the layer must be regarded as the first group of coatings that covered linearly molded protruded form made of the mixed building materials. Furthermore the layer U.32784 corresponds with the sequence of floors 32785 that were evidenced to the North of the mentioned feature. Alternatively, to the South it seems that the plasters were laid down during the use of the dirty floors assigned conventionally as U.32793. Worth noticing is that the bench F.7879 at the evoked stage of the use was wider in its NS extent and afterwards it was truncated intentionally to the South which caused recognizably decreasing the form of the feature in the next phase of the use (after laying down the thick make-up layer of the dirty floors U.32782).
