Discussion: The layer U.32793 had been revealed below the deposit of grouped dirty floors U.32782 within SE part of the SP.531. The distinguishing of the layer 32793 based on the noticeable higher density of the fragments of the charred wood than it had been recognized before in the area. In addition, the closer examination of the layer U.32793 brought insightful detection which referred to the stratigraphical position of the layer which apparently laid directly on the leveling deposit U.32761. The latter was set in order to remodel the room and prepared it for further dwelling. As such the recorded horizon might be regarded as the primary sediment within the dirty (cooking) area which was accumulated during the remodeling phase. The charcoals most plausibly might be related with a sequence of use of two fire installations (Earlier - U.32796/F.8339, and later-U.32790/F.8338) whose enigmatic remnants imply an interim / ad hoc nature. Probably both of the mentioned features were accomplished as a makeshift in order to provide cooking activities for the people engaged in the process of remodeling of the space. The described circumstances caused that the seemingly homogeneous layer 32793 was represented in fact by several layers of ash and charcoals that were immersed into few layers of trampled clay surfaces. Furthermore, the respective laminations characterized varied density of the burnt organic material.
The excavation of the floors had been conducted by the use of the GRID. The main axis of the Grid was established along Southern wall (F.3679) of the building, whose EW alignment positioned the further division of the room.
The sampling process relayed on collecting two samples from each of 1m x 1m square. One of the sample was taken specifically for Phytolith analyzes and it was recorded with ODD digit number: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9. The rest part of the explored sediment within squared meter had been taken as flotation sample, enumerated conventionally by EVEN digit number: 2, 4, 8, 10. In addition S.11 had been collected as an archive sample, and S.12 represents the lowermost sediments collected from allover the described area.

Finds Room Information:

All material from site passes through the finds room for washing and separating before it is passed onto the various lab teams. The finds room keeps a basic inventory of what is found. A finds material type list is given here. Further analytical detail maybe provided by the Lab Team data below.

X Finds Material: nothing recorded

Finds Material Stored: nothing recorded
