Discussion: ? layer around boundary edge of the oven to the north in space 151. Apparently part of oven structure, base to floor (3363) lapped up over S edge (RT 14/9/98).
Recognition: Brownish-grey layer visible over a more blue/grey layer.
Definition: Diffuse and crumbled to N, generally thin and not that well defined.
Execution: Trowel.
Condition: Dry.
Consistency: hard, especially near surface
Colour: 10 YR 6/2 light brownish grey
Texture: fairly fine silt
Bedding: massive
Inclusions: shell (2%), charcoal (2%)
Post-depositional Features:
Basal Boundary: anthropogenic/diffuse in places/S + E slightly uneven with one (probably slightly overdug) pit/W edge basal boundary is smooth and abrupt
