Unit 3590
Category: layer dug in 1999
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: bottom of higher pit,pit fill
Data Category Information: none
Discussion: Doudle pit of organicaly rich ashy mat. - w/ large chunks of charcoal and one occasional bone pis=ece. Soft w/ well defined bottom where cut steped and platform surface begun. From the initial scraping, it was a guess that this dark figure G - shaped cut might be a burrial under the platform. It turned out that ther layer was actually quite shallow - possibly the bottom of a later cut - or a fix fillin th eplatform or just remaining ashy material from a previous layer. 1 large chunk of obsidia was found in the S-E portion of the cut - while a hemispherical and polished object was uncovered in the S-W corner- it is quite deep and still unidentified.
