Discussion: To the S more grey layers were reached. Changed. N of the the pit more brown. S of pit more orangish brown. Difficult to understand.
When we came to the Southern end, the soil became really ashy so we decided to stop excavating and change unit numbers because we thought it was a different deposition. So we stopped- arbitrary as always and assigned a new set of unit numbers.
Recognition: Recognised as continuation of the midden that we have been digging the whole season
Definition: Defined by its ashyness, consistency etc

Consistency: firm in brick rubble areas-loose where there is more ash
Colour: the matrix is an orangish brown soil, but there are greyish brown areas where there is more ash.
Texture: silty clay
Bedding: layered
Inclusions: a lot of building rubble and all other middenly things that come to mind was seen on the previous layers
Post-depositional Features: animal-insect-root disturbance
