Unit 8211
Category: layer dug in 2001
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: floor packing
Data Category Information: none
Discussion: This unit was the packing below unit 8209- a white plaster floor. We found a white floor in the profile of the pit F.750. And tried to follow it. It was very localized however, (about 4cm below white plaster) and didn't continue to become the floor we expected. In the southern most portion Slobo did not find a floor until he went about 15cm where we found a nice white plaster floor. This was not what we had expected however, so we simply cleaned up the southern area and took the northern area down to a level surface about 11cm higher than the southern area. The rest of the packing to the white floor will be done in the next unit.
