Unit 11100
Category: layer dug in 2004
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: erosion deposits,Infill
Data Category Information: Location: building; Deposition: homogeneous
Discussion: Today was the first day of the Berkeley group digging. Space 233 is bounded by walls on all sides, through the North and East walls are not very well defined and only the West wall shows a nice plaster surface. This layer is most likely infill (perhaps a bit trampled and eroded). As we are in the fast trakc, about a 10cm layer was taken out to see what was happening beneath, thus the layer ended arbitrarily. This infill most likely mostly belongs to building 46 which is located on top of an older building whose plastered wall surface can be seen.
Depth and volume estimated in PX. Unclear how much of this unit (if any) was dry sieved (DE 2009). I am presuming that the units in this area were excavated using the fast track guidelines dated 06.07.2004 - which state there is no dry sieving done.

Finds Room Information:
All material from site passes through the finds room for washing and separating before it is passed onto the various lab teams. The finds room keeps a basic inventory of what is found. A finds material type list is given here. Further analytical detail maybe provided by the Lab Team data below.
