Unit 11651
Category: Cut dug in 2005
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: cut of burial
Data Category Information: Description: burial
Discussion: This one had a slightly different fill, but was not separated form the other fills. This cut looked relatively undistrubed on 3 sides, although it was still not clearly visible as the grave-fill was very similar to the surrounding material. The soil around this body however had none of the animal bones and dirty charcoally look that the other grave fills seem to have. Cut overlaps with that of 11493, and seems to have truncated 11493 removing some/all of the legs. Cut also truncates a mudbrick plaster-lined face to the north, more evidence that the bodies were going in as the room was being filled in. Cut on west, south, and east is still a little uncertain, not showing up well in the soils. Cut may be same as 11493 - were very close together in ground, and bones appear in wrong position to have cut away the missing bones - this view is now considered wrong, and it is accepted that this burial cut away at 11493.
