Unit 11493
Category: skeleton dug in 2005
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: burial
Data Category Information: none
Discussion: This adult neolithic skeleton was one of the more complete skeletons in the burial complex associated with the eastern platform (F.1320) in building 44. The left hip and leg missing however. This is surprising given that the body was on its left side and disturbance to this part of the body should have been less likely than disturbance to the right side. The extended right arm and hand in front of the face was dramatic due to the relstively good preservation of these bones. The right femur was also missing but could have been disturbed by later burial events. Sk. 11494 was on top of the right arm of skeleton 11493 which suggests sk. 11494 was buried before sk 11492. The skull of another individual (sk. 11655) was found directly under the skull of sk. 11493
