Discussion: Plaster accompanying mudbrick 14286 to make construction feature 2424.

Plaster seems similar in colour and consistencz to that of buttress 5063, and continues undisturbed between the two in the southeast corner of the buttress. This suggests that both were plastered at the same time. But does this plastering coincide with the building of the features? Or is it later? Plaster composition, colour, and texture are similar to the mortar in the upper lazers of the wall (unit 16849), thus contemporaneous with these levels?

--

The plaster was a reason for the newlz established assumption of the double wall F.3380, as it does not separate the walls 2424 and 3303 as thought. Also, it was directlz connected to the plaster on F.5063. For further discussion, see Unit 16850.
