Discussion: The bottom level of the Western wall of b.98 is represented by this unit 17290. It is a thick frontal plastered layer of the Western wall which covers several layers of mudbrick and mortar. Within its structure, u. 17290 has a layer of burnt soil (samples S1 & S2) with charcoal and mixed silty sand and clayish soil; as well as inclusions of pottery, bones, obsidian and stone.
