Discussion: sample of this plaster line was taken after it broke off, after stepped on accidentally. This was actually rather fortuitous, as a sample did need to be taken. This plaster covers all walls of space 341, on the face of the walls - F.5054, 5055, 5056, 5057. See sketch
Due to the wall not having been excavated down to the bottom, the end of the plaster cover cannot yet be identified.

JMR 2012: 16897 is the outermost plaster layer covering walls F.5056, F.2413/5055 and F.3369 and F.3370 in Space 341. The plaster was not well preserved in the upper parts of the walls (F.5056 and 2413/5055), but better further down. This plaster layer was applied directly on the upper (younger) wall phase = F.5056 and F.2413/5055. Further down, it covered the older plaster layers on the older walls (F.3370, F.3369) U.17297, 18357 and 17298. It also convered the older plaster layers on F.3369. 16897 was really thick - it might represent several layers, but these could not be separated from each other. The plaster had an irregular surface, caused by the irregularities of the plaster and brick it covered.
