Unit 20848
Category: Cut dug in 2014
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: Scoop,Shallow pit in floor
Data Category Information: Description: scoop
Discussion: This cut represents a circular scoop into floor f.7014, which covers the western half of sp. 370. The purpose of the cut is unclear, as the fill contained no finds and was most likely established to create a level surface for the floor above. Although the cut is rather jagged and uneven in section, it is very circular in plan, with the exception of its truncation by f.7000 (a post retrieval pit) to the west.
Shape: Semicircle (cut by post retrieval pit)
Sides: Straight on eastern side, more sloping on northern and southern sides
Base Break: jagged
Base: mostly flat, some jagged and uneven areas
Orientation: N/A
