Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: wall/blocking; Material: plaster; Deposition: layered (wall plaster)

Discussion: Not a very obvious form - but appears to be a moulded fixture to f6 with 'negative' space for holding some timber. Its position and association with the puddled surface suggests the fixture of a ladder to the South wall but exactly how is hard to envisage. - perhaps the side of the ladder was simply set into the recess, but it is by no means unambiguous.
A more convincing example is possibly on the opposing wall, F10, S face ( see graphic 97-171)

Unit description: This unit derives solely from flotation Sample 3, 100% sorted, recorded completely. It is a tiny unit of tiny pieces, none over 1 cm. None are diagnostic, and most look rather rolled. There is little burning or digestion. A fish vertebra and what may have originally been one largish piece of burnt eggshell have been pulled. This looks like what we think of as a floor assemblage. Last number = 8Figurine Records: No GroundStone Records: No Heavy Residue Records: No Microfaunal Records: No
