Unit 2152
Category: cut dug in 1997
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: truncation
Data Category Information: Description: crawlhole
Discussion: Cut to remove some of wall F201 to prepare for a blocking/remodelling of the access between spaces 70 and 71; some traces of floor/plaster remained but the cut seems to have removed most of it. Cut essentially involved removal of bricks and mortar along their natural interfaces.
Alternatively, cut is simply 'wear' on step which was blocked up. If so, supports idea that this was the main access and the smaller opening to the south was just a 'serving hatch' type.
