Discussion: Unit is a small, ovoic/circular cut to post timber U. 22409 with clay linning U. 24410. It is relatively shallow, with regular sides. The small shape suggests that it might be some kind of extension, ramp, or rail associated with the larger timber post cut located just N of this feature, since it is located closer to wall F. 5038. The cut's w and e sides slope in to the bottom of the cut at a harsh angle, demonstrating how slanted the ladder must have been, rather than fully vertical.
