Unit 22692
Category: Layer dug in 2015
Interpretive Categories: ladder
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: feature; Description: post
Description: Block of in situ charcoal in a tight cut in platform F. 7954. Very delicate.
Discussion: This block of charcoal, because of its location and its situation in a tight cut, has been interpreted as the remains of the bottom of a ladder post for the entrance to the space. It was uncovered beneath room fill u. 22635, and was excavated by Dorian Fuller according to Eleni Asouti's established protocols. It is not a large block, and was not in great condition after a few days' exposure, but should be studied as a priority unit in 2016.
