Discussion: This cut was visible from the onset of 2017 campaign and initially looked like an earlier burial truncated along the eastern edge by F7962 that was excavated during previous campaigns.
Level at which the cut was first recognized (probably NOT the level from which it was originally cut) was unit 23057 - the first make-up layer before the first plastering of the platform F7952 and SP556 (this area initially comprising a single raised area will in post-ex get a new feature number probably), that is to say BELOW the first floor in this space and it was cut into packing/construction layers and midden.
Sides of the cut where midden layers are clearly visible had lines that could be followed from F8363 to F7962 in continuation without any interruptions.
East edge of this cut, or for that matter, this entire feature - could not be defined. Looking at the bases of these two features not only that there seems to be no truncation line, but bases are defined by a slightly more compact midden layer continuing from one to the other without interruption.
If this unit was cut from first make-up layer and F7962 significantly later there would have been a truncation line. Even if severe bioturbation is taken under consideration it still does not make sense for no break of continuation between features. It seems more logical that these two features are contemporary from evidence presented, but then problem being that this part of the cut was not recognized at the same time as F7962.
There were no human remains within this feature.
