Unit 30022
Category: Layer dug in 2015
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: Clayish core of burial platform
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: building; Deposition: homogeneous
Discussion: Core of the platform composed of light orange brown clay/silty clay extending from the West side of the feature to the burial cut. Massive structure, appears to be continued from the ridge to th edge of the cut as a single entity. This means that the elevated perimeter of the platform was not a later addition but as a part of the original design. In the NE corner of the platform there is also clay core, but in this case it is sitting on top of an earlier floor, as seen in the burial cut, so it probably represents an earlier depositional event. The core excavated lies on top of a grey floor, ended at parts (especially towards the burial cut) below which is a coarse heterogenous levelling unit, increasing in depth towards the E, was deposited.
