Unit 32023
Category: Layer dug in 2016
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: activity surface
Data Category Information: Location: building; Description: general; Material: occupation; Deposition: single
Discussion: A very small, single, irregular patch (32023) of activity surface had been evidenced directly below the superstructure (31569) belonging to latest phase of the oven (F.7854). Worth noticing here is that the presented sediment covered small part of the burned layer (32018) of earlier constructional phase of the mentioned fire installation. The latter circumstance allows to presume that the describing surface of activity refers to uncertain proceedings that took place after demolition of the earliest oven, and before re-construction of the new one (related with: superstructure - 31569, base - 31570, and dome - 32003). However, very little can be said about possible nature of the deposit upon its small extent, except for its stratygraphical relationship. In order to better understand the layer all its volume (0,3 L) was taken as samples (S1, S2).
