Discussion: Courses of dark gray mudbrick set in courses with mortar 4131. Each brick measures up to 70 cm in length, 32cm in width and 7cm in thickness though there is much irregularity and some are significantly smaller than this. The bricks in the initial phase of this wall differ substantially from those used in the later partial rebuild of the wall 4127, being far more sturdy and a different colour, the manufacture of the two different phases of brick therefore appaers to have been significantly different. The bricks over the centre of the wall have sagged considerably, probably because of their position over a once open crawl hole. It is this factor which probably necessitated the later rebuilding of the wall.
