Discussion: Collapse of plaster, bricks and matter from f66 into the eastern end of space 117. Happened overnight between 12/04 and 13/04 as a result of a number of factors: climatic, biological and exposure. Not added to running matrix as it is a recent event, not within current stratigraphy being excavated. Collapsed material consists of plaster 4126, mudbrick 4127, 4130 and mortar 4128, 4131 from f66. 

 

Recognition: fresh wall collapse 

Definition: loose demolition rubble over firm deposits 

Execution: Trowel and hand shovel 

Condition: Badly damaged 

Consistency: firm to friable 

Colour: pale beige, dark brown and reddish brown 

Texture: silty clay 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: occational stone, bone, shell obsidian and clay ball fragments 

Post-depositional Features: abundant roots 

Basal Boundary: clear but recent collapse over in-situ archaeological material
