Dimensions: irregular extent, 3.2m along length of wall max height 0.4m by max thickness 10mm 

 

Discussion: Wall plaster on south face of wall 483 and continuous with plaster on east face of wall 484 to west of crawl hole. Very fragmentary having been exposed by, and mostly removed by Mellaart expedition. Maximum thickness 10mm consisting of multiple laminates of plaster application. No bedding layers visible by eye. Plaster undulates slightly in gentle waves and appears to reflect the undulation of brick and mortar below. Specks of red paint traced at west end but not continuous. 

 

Recognition: Plaster adhering to wall face - white laminations 

Definition: Covers extent of wall face in irregular patches 

Execution: trowel, peeling from bricks and mortar 

Condition: damp through rain 

Consistency: moderately loose 

Colour: pale creamy yellow 

Texture: fine limey 

Bedding: fine laminations 

Inclusions: none 

Post-depositional Features: flaky, eroded, rootlets and inset holes 

Basal Boundary: clear, constructional, follows undulation of wall face
